The Cooperation Band Looks Ahead to EBBA’s 30th Anniversary Championships in Stavanger

As the countdown begins for the 2025 European Brass Band Championships in Stavanger, The Cooperation Band is proud to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the European Brass Band Association (EBBA) and looks forward to taking part in what promises to be a landmark event in the banding calendar.

EBBA has played a vital role in shaping the European brass band scene since its formation on this day in 1995 in Luxembourg City, during the 18th European Championships. What began as a shared vision among a small group of passionate representatives has become the leading organization championing brass band excellence across Europe.

For bands like ours, EBBA’s work over the last three decades has opened doors to incredible opportunities—musically, culturally, and competitively. From expanding youth initiatives to live broadcasts that bring our performances to a global audience, EBBA’s commitment to developing the movement continues to inspire.

We recognise the significance of this anniversary not only as a historical milestone but as a celebration of the spirit of collaboration, ambition, and artistic achievement that defines our community. As EBBA President Ulf Rosenberg noted, rotating the Championships across different nations—Stavanger this year, Lithuania last—has helped propel the movement forward while honoring its rich traditions.

Competing in this special edition of the European Championships is an honor for our band. We are excited to represent our country on such a prestigious stage, to share music with fellow top-level ensembles, and to be part of an event that showcases the very best of European brass banding.

On this important anniversary, The Cooperation Band extends heartfelt congratulations to EBBA and expresses our gratitude to all those—past and present—who have worked so tirelessly to support and grow this incredible movement.

We look forward to performing in Stavanger and playing our part in celebrating 30 years of EBBA’s extraordinary legacy.
